My name is João Simões, I'm currently 24 years old and I started painting and drawing at a very young age, mainly influenced by my mother that also paints in her free time. Although I did had some past experience with painting on canvas and drawing, I had never painted in oils until this month of August of 2017. After seeing some tutorials on youtube and having researched a bit more about painting techniques and on a how oil paints react on the canvas, I decided to pick up a canvas and some paints that my mother had in my house and in the middle of the boredom of my summer vacation, in the month of August, I decided to paint my first oil painting on canvas and because of the great result that I've got I decided to continue, always painting when I have some free time on my weekends.

Apesar de eu já ter tido alguma experiência no passado com pinturas em telas e desenho, nunca tinha pintado a óleo até este mês de Agosto de 2017. Depois de ver alguns tutoriais no youtube e ter pesquisado um pouco mais sobre técnicas e sobre a forma como as tintas de óleo se comportam na tela, decidi pegar numa tela e nalgumas tintas que a minha mãe tinha em casa e no meio do aborrecimento das minhas férias de verão do mês de Agosto, decidi pintar a minha primeira tela a óleo e com o resultado fantástico que obtive decidi continuar, pintando sempre que tenho tempo livre nos meus fins-de-semana.
